About

Humanoid Tally counts humanoid robots at work: pilot vs. paid, units, funding. We cover which robots are actually working, where, and who's paying for it, plus hype-free explainers of viral demos.

Pilots aren't deployments. We track the difference.

What we track

  • Tracker updates. New customers, status changes, and unit counts. Every entry gets a status label.
  • Money. Funding rounds, IPOs and SPACs, and valuations. We say clearly when something is only reported versus confirmed.
  • Demo explainers. For every viral video: what it shows, what it doesn't show, and the questions it leaves open. Is it autonomous or teleoperated? On a tether? Sped up? Was the task chosen to look good?
  • Supply chain. Actuators, hands, compute, simulation, and safety stacks: the picks-and-shovels side of humanoids.
  • Scoreboards. A weekly chart, the Weekly Tally, and leaderboards by paid deployments, verified units, and capital raised.

Status labels

Every robot we count gets exactly one label per company–customer pair. A press release doesn't make something a deployment.

ANNOUNCED
A deal, pilot or deployment has been announced, but robots aren't working there yet. Example: a pilot scheduled to start next year.
PILOT
Robots are being tested at a customer site or lab, as a pilot or proof of concept, even if the customer pays for the pilot. Not yet a paid production deployment.
PAID
A customer outside the robot maker is paying for robots in production use, by purchase, lease or robot-as-a-service. Sales or orders alone don't count: shipped units with no visible use get an asterisk, and orders with nothing shipped stay NONE VERIFIED.
INTERNAL
Robots work in the maker's own facilities, or its parent company's. No outside customer.
NONE VERIFIED
We found no public evidence of robots doing work for anyone. Promo videos and pre-orders land here.
*
An asterisk means public sources leave the status unclear. We show our best call and flag it.

Reported vs. confirmed. When a figure comes from anonymous sources or a media report the company hasn't confirmed, we label it reported. Confirmed means it comes from the company, a filing, or the customer.

How we work: AI-assisted, human-reviewed

Our research is AI-assisted: AI tools help us find sources, summarize them, and draft posts. Every post is reviewed and approved by a human before it's published. Every article lists its sources at the bottom, and posts name theirs.
